Also, remember to change the batteries in your smoke alarms. Call the Fire Department’s non-emergency number at 594-3140 for help, if needed. 
Mon., Nov. 2, 1 pm: Zoom Lunch and Learn with Lapham: “The Art Lover’s Guide to New York with the Zuckermans.” If you’ve always wanted to be an artist, or just love art, you will enjoy this presentation about the many artists who chose to exhibit their art in New York City throughout the 20th century. Participants will have a Lunch delivered to their homes. Free. RSVP by Fri., Oct. 30. 
Tuesday, November 3rd: Election Day
GetAbout is offering rides to the polls.
Please call them directly at 203-972-7433 to reserve a ride.
Staying Put will offer rides if GetAbout is unable to drive you.

If you are voting via Absentee Ballot, Staying Put is happy to mail your ballot for you at the Post Office, or you can drop it off in the voting box outside the new entrance to Town Hall. Remember to sign and date the Inner Envelope in which you place your ballot. Your vote will not be counted without your signature.

Sun., Nov. 8, 1 - 3 pm: Young Men with Muscle from New Canaan’s Service League of Boys (SLOBS) will move your porch furniture and heavy plants inside for the winter. Call Staying Put by Fri., Nov. 6 to add your name to the list.

Tues., Nov. 10, 9:30 am: Zoom Men’s Coffee. Join Staying Put member Pete Stair as he hosts a virtual discussion. Make your own cup of coffee and enjoy the lively conversation. Free. RSVP.

Thurs., Nov. 12, 10 am: Ladies’ Coffee at Staying Put. Button up your overcoat and join us for this outside gathering of the Ladies. You provide the conversation while we provide the coffee and treats. Two outdoor heat lamps will help chase away the late autumn chill. Raindate: Fri., Nov. 13. Free. RSVP.

Staying Put’s Zoom Annual Meeting

will host this year’s VIRTUAL Annual Meeting.

Tune in for an update on how Staying Put has pivoted to meet members’ needs during the COVID crisis and hear Guest Speaker Bethany Zaro from Human Services share information on the resources available in our town for seniors in the months ahead.

Wed., Nov. 18, 12 pm: Dial-in Meditation Lunch. Get into “the zone” and enjoy a peaceful retreat by phoning in to this program hosted by the New Canaan Library and the Community Mindfulness Project. Get comfortable, dial 857-799-9498, and join the presentation, which includes a 20-minute guided meditation. Participants will have a Lunch delivered to their homes before the session. Free. RSVP by Mon., Nov. 16.

Mon., Nov. 23, 10 am: Men’s Coffee at Staying Put. Join in, me hearties, outside for a socially-distanced Coffee. Java and treats will be provided and two heat lamps will be on hand to chase away the November chill. Raindate: Tues., Nov. 24. Free. RSVP.
