Library Receives Michigan Certification!
The Library of Michigan has awarded NPL a certificate of completion for meeting the Excellent Level of the Quality Services Audit Checklist (QSAC)!  To earn this certification the Library demonstrated superior service to its patrons and community in a cost-effective manner, with a can-do attitude, and by always delivering on promises.

With three levels of achievement such as Essential, Enhanced and Excellence offered by QSAC, NPL has officially reached all three levels! Huge thank you to Jessica Schenk Librarian, for working on this project this year!

Out of 400 public libraries in Michigan, the Novi Library is the only library in Michigan to receive this certification!
Food for Fines/Food for Thought
April 7 - 13, 2019
As part of our celebration of National Library Week and the theme of "Libraries = Strong Communities" this year, we are partnering with Gleaners Community Food Bank and other TLN libraries to collect non-perishable food items to help feed hungry children, seniors, and families in our community.   We will forgive $1 in fines for each item donated, up to 10 items per day.
Currently fine-free? The Food for Thought segment of this program is for you!  Non-perishable food items that meet the following criteria will be accepted:
·  Unopened
·  Original Label still intact
·  Expiration date of October 1, 2019 or later
Thank you for joining us in the fight against hunger in Southeast Michigan!
Update:
The Computer Lab will close on April 23.  We're excited to announce that a Makerspace, a collaborative space to encourage creativity and the exchange of ideas and skills, will open in its place in June 2019.
More Laptops for Checkout!
With the closing of the Computer Lab, our lending laptops have increased to four, received a hardware upgrade and a mouse is also available.

Pinwheels for Prevention Garden
The Library is pleased to promote April as Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month with the national symbol of the blue pinwheel.  "Pinwheels for Prevention" is a national campaign with more than 2.3 million pinwheels distributed across America since 2008.  The pinwheels that are located at the Library entrance represent hope, health and happiness and serve as a reminder that we all have a responsibility to create communities that promote healthy environments for children.

Pinwheels for Prevention Gardens is sponsored by the Novi Community Coalition in partnership with other community organizations.
