Let's Celebrate Unity!

Join us for a free breakfast, music, speakers and fellowship on Monday, January 15 from 10am-12pm.  Youth, teens and adults may submit a poem or essay, 500 words or less, on "My Vision for a Unified Nation" and winners will be announced at the breakfast and receive a prize.  Email essays and poems to [email protected] by January 8.  Be sure to include name, grade, school and contact information.  Children participants, middle school or younger must provide parent or guardian information.  Register for the event here. 

Adopting A Little Library

The little library is a small free-standing kiosk that houses youth and teen books for families who visit the Children's Hospital of Michigan-DMC.  It was donated in memory of former Novi Teen Librarian, Jennifer Preston, who lost her life very early to heart disease and was a former patient at the DMC.  Donations will be accepted for any gently-used books (reading levels K-12) to add to the library until January 10.  Books can be dropped off at the box in the Library's lobby or at the five neighborhood libraries (Salem-South Lyon, Northville District, Wixom Library, Lyon Township and Walled Lake City Library) or ACE Hardware-Novi and South Lyon Locations.  Thank you for giving the gift of reading!

Students for Success

Celebrate Black History Month by enjoying a great read and taking part in a thoughtful community conversation on  Tuesday, Feburary 27, from 6-8:30pm.  Copies of the book All American Boys by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely will be available for check out at the Library through February 2018.  Register for the event  here. Thank you to the Novi Community School District, Parents of African American Students in Novi (PAASN), and the Novi Educational Foundation for partnering together to bring the community Students for Success.
