Tom Sharpe Returns-Live in Concert!
To kick off National Library Week, join the Library for an afternoon concert with Composer & National Performing Artist Tom Sharpe!  Detroit native Tom Sharpe is an internationally recognized award-winning composer, percussionist, pianist and recording artist. Sharpe is the drummer for popular Grammy winning group Mannheim Steamroller, former drummer for Dennis DeYoung founding member of STYX, and artistic director of the Tom Sharpe Ensemble.   We encourage the community to attend and witness his talent and passion for music on Sunday, April 8 from 3-4pm!   Register for the concert here .
Library Closure
Friday, May 25th-Monday, May 28th
The Library is upgrading to a new online catalog system (CARL) and will need to be closed to the public for an extended period of time to complete the installation.  Over 40 libraries in metro Detroit will be affected by this technology change-over.  The closure allows for millions of records (both patron and material) to be transferred successfully.  This date transfer is being done by consultants working with the library's consortium (The Library Network).  The new system will bring patron and material access upgrades that will be beneficial to our Novi residents when searching and borrowing materials.  Also in preparation for the migration to a new system, MeLCat services will be suspended on April 1, 2018 with a tentative resume date of July 1, 2018.  MeLCat requests will not be allowed during this period, but any previously checked out MeLCat items can still be returned to NPL.  Thank you for your cooperation as we get ready for our new system.  We apologize for this  interruption  in service, but expect it to be a great improvement to our library and for YOU.
