Accepting applications for Leadership Academy 2024!
The Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV) is committed to developing leaders that will help Illinois effectively advocate for the eradication of domestic violence statewide, nationwide, and worldwide. We are now accepting applications for the ICADV Leadership Academy, an interactive, hands-on leadership development workshop series for members of the ICADV community, agencies, and supporting industries.
The Leadership Academy is a yearlong training program which focuses on building new, diverse voices of leadership within the movement to end domestic violence by providing hands-on leadership development opportunities for staff from domestic violence agencies, other allied professionals, and survivors, especially those that represent underserved or under-represented communities.
During and between sessions, participants will develop action plans to establish change within a system that touches domestic violence. Learning from each session will be incorporated into the action plans.
Participants will:
- Learn about their personal leadership style and enhance their skill and capacity as leaders and change agents in various spheres of influence;
- Learn about key leadership concepts and cutting-edge theories and practices regarding prevention and intervention of domestic violence;
- Explore the importance of advocating for oneself, advocating for others, and becoming a true ally to others as a leader; and
- Become part of a growing cohort of advocates and/or ally leaders who are committed to ending domestic violence.
Individuals who complete this academy will receive a solid foundation in leadership skill-building within their organization and within the domestic violence movement, with a focus on cultural consciousness and allyship.
