NOTICE is hereby given that the position of Recreation Coordinator for the Neptune Township Recreation Department will be available at a salary of $35,000.00 per year.

      The Full Time Recreation Coordinator for the Recreation Department shall be under the direct supervision of the Recreation Director. The Recreation Coordinator will plan, implement, promote, coordinate, supervise and evaluate Neptune Township’s current recreational programs, and expand program offerings as identified by public interest and/or need.
      Individuals wishing to be considered for this position will be expected to research and develop a comprehensive variety of programs, recruit program providers, and evaluate programs for continuation, change or elimination. Organize, coordinate, and conduct seasonal programs and events, including hiring, training, and supervision of part-time staff. Create promotional materials, i.e. event flyers, e-newsletters, e-communication for recreation programs. Schedule recreation programs and activities and request and coordinate facility space. Facilitate inclusion of participants with disabilities in general recreation and sports programs. Candidates must be able to multi-task, have knowledge of ADA and inclusion process, and have excellent organization skills, customer service skills, communication skills, computer skills, lift and move up to 25 pounds, and enjoy working with children and adults. Candidate must have the ability to work a flexible schedule.      
      Qualified candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree (from an accredited college or university with major course work in recreation and park administration or related field preferred) and at least two (2) years’ work experience in managing and supervising recreation programs. Professional recreation certification preferred. Must possess First Aid/CPR certification or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Online program registration experience preferred. NOTICE is hereby given that a Bookkeeper position is available in the Tax Collection Office at an annual salary of $30,000.00. The daily work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday.
           The job requirements are as follows: must demonstrate ability to utilize spreadsheet programs; must demonstrate ability to prepare business letters utilizing a word processing program; must demonstrate ability to properly count and process cash efficiently, must have experience in customer service, must be able to properly record and execute cash and check transactions, must demonstrate a positive and outgoing personality, must have the ability to communicate verbally in a professional caring manner either in person or over the telephone, must have the ability to work in a group setting, must assist in the various revenue collection programs within the Tax Collection Department (including Sewer, Mercantile, etc.), must demonstrate the ability to use office equipment i.e. computer, adding machine, fax, copies etc. Applicants will be required to demonstrate some of these skills.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Township Committee anticipates the hiring of Police Officers in the Neptune Township Police Department. The starting salary for this position is $40,000.00. Applicants can access an application on our website https://neptunepolice.org/careers/

Applicants shall meet the following qualifications in order to apply: Must be a resident of New Jersey and a citizen of the United States; Must be at least 21 years of age; Shall have graduated from high school or possess a General Equivalency Degree (GED); Shall possess an associate’s degree or sixty college/university credits from an accredited college/university or be honorably discharged from active duty service in any branch of the U.S. Military; Ability to perform all the tasks and duties of a Police Officer; possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s License; and shall have successfully passed the police officer’s entry level written and physical examination administered by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police and currently on a valid active list. This requirement may be waived if candidate successfully completed a NJ Police Training Commission (PTC) approved basic training course for police officers or has successfully completed a PTC approved training course for Special Law Enforcement Officer Class II (SLEO II) at the Monmouth County Police Academy, and is eligible for a waiver of training under PTC guidelines.

Notice is hereby given that there are openings for full time permanent Drivers in the Neptune Township Public Works Department at a yearly salary of $32,200.00 with a Class A CDL or $31,200.00 with a Class B CDL. The daily work schedule for employees in the Public Works Department is Monday – Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. A copy of the job description for Driver in the Public Works Department is available in the office of Human Resources. All persons applying for the position of Driver must possess a valid CDL Class A or CDL Class B driver’s license.
