NOW THAT WAS A BOMB CYCLONE

There was stormy weather throughout the West Coast, but Portland was mostly spared the damage experienced in parts of the Puget Sound region and Northern California. Many of the properties we maintain in the Seattle area sustained storm damage from the winds, some of it severe, as shown in the pictures above and below. Our teams quickly jumped into action to help our customers by clearing downed trees and removing debris from sites that were blocking access to several properties. It was one of those situations we hate to see, but it gave us the opportunity to rise to the challenge and serve our customers heroically. Our team loves a challenge and can be incredibly creative when faced with them.

We sprang into action to clear downed trees, but there were also downed limbs covering acres of parking lots. Our field managers devised a unique solution, using our truck-mounted snowplows to consolidate debris. This approach saved countless hours of labor and did an excellent job of clearing all but the smallest needle debris with each pass. It’s a new tool in our toolkit for speeding up storm cleanup and saving customers money by reducing labor hours.

It was amazing to have these lots cleared within a few days of the storm. At that point, all that remained was for our customers to call in their parking lot sweepers.
