Spring Soirée Tickets Now Avaliable

Join us at the Howe on Saturday, May 17th at 6:30 p.m. for the Spring Soirée, the library’s signature fundraising event. You’ll enjoy live music, catered hors d’oeuvres, complimentary drinks, and the company of friends and neighbors. There will be book-based raffle prizes, exciting silent auction items, and an opportunity to make a gift to support the library’s collections and programs. Childcare will be available for children aged 4-12.

Happy 125th Birthday to Howe Library!

Howe Library opened to the public on April 7, 1900. Originally located at 4 West Wheelock Street, we moved to South Street in 1975.


Stop by the cafe display case to learn about Howe Library's history. Then swing by the Information Desk to pick up a Howe Library bingo card. Complete a bingo and you'll be entered into a raffle for a Still North Books & Bar gift card.

Poop Museum

Learn, laugh and talk all about poop when The Poop Museum visits the Howe Library! At The Poop Museum, everyone learns A LOT, and some of the facts that are shared are mind-blowing! But The Poop Museum is also full of laughter because, well, our subject is poop.


Recommended for ages 8 and up. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult and be able to sit for the 1-hour program.
