Celebrate Black History Month by Joining our YA Black History Month Reading Challenge! 

To celebrate, read any book by a Black author or about a topic important to Black History. Then submit a short review of the book on our website by March 8 and you’ll be entered to win a copy of There Goes the Neighborhood by Jade Adia – winner of the 2024 Coretta Scott King / John Steptoe New Talent Author Award!


This challenge is for teens (ages 12-19). Only entry per person, please.

Saturday Valentine's Storytime and Craft

Join us on Saturday, February 13 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. for Valentine's Day books on friendship and sing songs. The program will end with two Valentine's Day crafts to take home. Dress to get messy. Recommended for ages 8 and under.

Are you a cookbook enthusiast? A culinary connoisseur? Do you enjoy communing with others over food? Indulge your taste buds and join us for Pages & Platters!


Each month we will select a new cookbook and display it behind the Information Desk. You prepare any recipe you like from it, and then we all come together to share what we’ve made.


Our first meeting will be Thursday, March 7 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. March's title is One by Jamie Oliver. Please register on our website.

Introducing the Howe Library Science Fiction Book Group!

Embark on a journey through the cosmos of imagination with our monthly science fiction book group! Join us every 3rd Thursday of the month for an exploration of distant worlds, futuristic technologies, and mind-bending concepts. Whether you're a seasoned sci-fi enthusiast or a curious newcomer, all are welcome to dive into the vast universe of speculative fiction.


Our first meeting will be Thursday, March 21st at 6:00 p.m. We will discuss The Deep Sky, by Yume Kitasei. We will also discuss future book group picks.
