Vermont Reads: Gather Augthor Events

Join us at the Howe Library on Thursday, March 6, at 6:30 p.m. for an evening with award-winning author Ken Cadow! His debut novel, Gather, has earned the Kirkus Prize, was a National Book Award Finalist, a Michael L. Printz Honor Book, and is this year’s Vermont Reads selection.

Attendees can receive a free copy of Gather at the event while supplies last, thanks to Vermont Reads. Don't miss this exciting opportunity for a reading and discussion with the author!

This is a hybrid event. Join us in person in the Mayer Room or online via Zoom. No registration required in person; register for Zoom on our website.

Howe Library is proud to host a Vermont Humanities Council program with author M. T. Anderson on Wednesday, March 26 at 6:00 p.m. This talk is geared towards readers 8-12 years old.

Anderson will discuss how living alone with a dog in the midst of the Covid shutdown in Vermont led to the writing of his Newbery Honor-award winning fantasy Elf Dog and Owl Head. He'll talk about the bond between human and animal - and how it might be different in Vermont than in some other places.

Kids are encouraged to bring and tell their own stories of the extraordinary animals they've known.
