November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas. It has no smell, color, or taste. Radon can enter homes through cracks in the foundation, or for those with private wells, through water in sinks, showers, and toilets. Indoor radon is the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers.

The only way to know if you have radon in your home is to test for it. If you have high levels of radon in your home, the good news is that you can fix it! Borrow a radon monitor from Howe Library's Library of Things and start testing your home today.
