New MRI unit helps physicians, patients

South County Health's diagnostic imaging capabilities have improved dramatically with the recently installed 1.5 MRI. Considered to be a top-of-the-line system in its class, the Siemans Magnetom Aera MRI was operational as of June 28, 2017.

On Friday, June 16, 2017, representatives from the Medical Staff at South County Health awarded a total of $11,800 in scholarships to 22 area high school graduates.

Recognizing extraordinary nurses

South County Health's Jaime Gardner, RN, was the latest recipient of the DAISY Award, an award that is part of an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. Jaime was nominated by the daughter of her patient, for whom she provided end-of-life care.

From loyalty to legacy: Joseph Beaudoin puts his home where his heart is

Throughout his life, South County Hospital has been a community stronghold for Joseph and his family. "My mother was born there. I was born there. I've had multiple surgeries there. It's the only hospital I've ever gone to," Joseph recalled. It has been there when he needed help. And now, he plans to return that favor.
