Vermont Agency of Transportation | 2019 External Research Program

Do you have an idea for a research topic you think the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) should consider? Each year, VTrans sponsors 2-4 research projects in partnership with external re searche rs and we are now seeking project ideas for VTrans’ 2019 External Research Program!

Project ideas must be submitted by December 14th to be considered for the 2019 program. Simply complete the research idea submission form on our website .

2018 RESEARCH AND INNOVATION SYMPOSIUM RECAP

On September 12, the VTrans Research Section and State Transportation Innovation Council held the second annual Research and Innovation Symposium at the Vermont State House in Montpelier, Vermont. The event brought together thought leaders from the across the transportation community and highlighted more than two dozen projects from researchers around the state. Connected and Automated Vehicles Cross Border Issues

Recently completed and funded by the New England Transportation Consortium, the Quick Response: New England Connected Automated Vehicles project looked at cross-border challenges facing New England States related to Connected Vehicles and Automated Vehicles.

A follow-up meeting with all six New England States is planned for November 16 ^th. The group will revisit the roadmap of actions developed at the conclusion of the project, discuss next steps, and implementation plans.
