Announcing Springfield Puerto Rican's 2023 Parade Theme:

Nunca Olvides Tus Raíces

We are thrilled to announce the theme for this year's parade "Nunca Olvides Tus Raíces", thanks to the amazing idea submitted by Mariela Villafañe Camacho!

We asked Mariela why this theme was important to her and this is what she had to say: "...since we opened our Puerto Rican store in Springfield, MA we have people who want to learn where their culture comes from... young people and even adults born in the US but of Puerto Rican parents... and that's where I full of pride, teach them and try to contribute that grain of sand... be able to educate about the beauty of being BORICUA...OUR BEAUTIFUL CULTURE, ITS FOLKLORE, ITS COLORS, ITS GASTRONOMY, ITS BEACHES AND ESPECIALLY ITS GREAT-HEARTED PEOPLE. We are proud to be able to contribute to our Community outside the Island about our beautiful Puerto Rico... and "NEVER FORGET YOUR ROOTS"

Mariela and her husband (shown in picture) are the proud owners of Mi Esquina Boricua, LLC BY A&M Creations and More in downtown Springfield. Make sure to visit their store to discover an incredible array of Puerto Rican artisan and more!
