Nurse Triage Training Reminders
Background

The Epic Nurse Triage Module that allows nurses to deliver care advice and document clinical information while on the phone with a patient is going live across Mass General Brigham on June 20. This activity is very similar to the current telephone encounter with the addition of Nursing Assessment and Protocol sections.

HealthStream Training Videos Assigned for New Nurse Triage Module

Yesterday morning, assignment emails were sent out for HealthStream training videos on the new Epic Nurse Triage Module.

The module is applicable to many nurses, but will not be used in all areas. If uncertain about whether this training is applicable to you, please check with your leadership. Since this training is not assigned as mandatory, it will automatically drop off everyone’s assignment list after June 22.

If this training is applicable to you, please complete the videos in order as assigned. Start with Scenario 1 and continue down the list.
Other Resources Available in Learning Home Dashboard

The HealthStream training will provide information on how to access further training materials related to this new module.

Nurses can use the Triage Exercise Book to practice scenarios in the Epic Playground training environment:
  • Please read login instructions in the Exercise Book for the scenarios found in the Epic Playground training environment before you begin.
  • Click here to open the Exercise Book. The instructions for accessing the Playground environment can be found here as well.
  • The scenarios are currently set up for one department: “BWH PC Jen Ctr.” The note template may not work correctly if you use another department.
Additionally, a Nurse Triage User Guide and MGB Nurse Triage Module Tip Sheet are available.
