February 2026 Update

Each year we examine the services that we offer to our Healthy Start families and set a new ceiling of care to meet their needs. This month we rolled out a new application called Bump2Baby 360. The app spans from pregnancy through a child’s first year, providing information and encouragement at your fingertips as families navigate this momentous time. Bump2Baby 360 anticipates the questions that arise during the prenatal, perinatal and postpartum periods, providing a guide on what to expect as well as best practices.

There is content on developing a birth plan, breastfeeding, safe sleep and general information on what to expect at every stage of pregnancy, delivery and raising a child. What is unique about Bump2Baby 360 is the universality of the tool that also includes local resources for Kansas City families. For families who experience a loss, there is also information on bereavement resources that are so critical to care.

In order to encourage utilization of the app, Nurture KC’s Community Health Workers have been trained on the tool and enrolling families in Bump2Baby 360 will be incentivized and folded into our Healthy Start programming. While some area hospitals use Bump2Baby 360, we believe there is a unique opportunity for a community organization like ours to optimize usage through our trusted and long-term relationships with the families we serve.

Please check out Bump2Baby 360 on the Nurture KC website!

Celebrating Staff Milestones

We’re proud to celebrate two exciting accomplishments within our Nurture KC team!

Congratulations to Shannon Williams on graduating from the prestigious Centurions program through the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. This leadership experience strengthens her connection to our community and enhances the impact of her work on behalf of families.

We also celebrate Maricela Sanchez for becoming a certified Doula. Her expanded training allows her to provide even deeper support to the families we serve during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

We are grateful for their leadership and commitment to our community.
