November 2022 Update

In November of even-numbered years, it always strikes me how different the tone is on the second Tuesday of the month compared to the last. While division and separation mark our current elections, it is Giving Tuesday that brings us back together around the shared purpose of helping one another. It is this final Tuesday that reflects our true spirit and unity that can be difficult to find in polarizing times.

November 29 marks my fourth Giving Tuesday at Nurture KC, an event that gives me the opportunity to shine a spotlight on the organization and, more importantly, the cause of reducing maternal and infant mortality. As a member of Nurture KC, you contribute to and support our mission in sustaining the 260+ families we serve each year. Giving Tuesday puts an exclamation point on a year’s worth of services, education and advocacy that is worthy of support on this day and the other 364. The hallmark of our Healthy Start program is the direct impact to families. Your donation helps us fund diapers, strollers, cribs, doula services, transportation to medical appointments and postpartum depression counseling to name a few. Nurture KC serves more families in the maternal and infant health space than any other metro organization.

Please consider giving during this holiday season to our families, knowing that your investment goes directly to their needs. Thank you for your continued support of Kansas City mothers and babies. We couldn’t do this without you!

It's Giving Tuesday!

When you donate to Nurture KC, you help the families we serve who need it most. Plus, our friends at Brown Button Estate Sales will match the first $500 worth of donations. So, act fast and your donation can go twice as far and have DOUBLE the impact!

Discussing Black Maternal Health

This month, Nurture KC and the Health Forward Foundation partnered to bring a Black Maternal Health panel discussion to the 15th Annual Urban Summit in Kansas City. Our Director of Healthy Start, Shannon Williams (pictured far left), shared her insights and experiences during the panel.
