CFPA Legislative Update
SB 1002 and SB 1147 Pass Senate Human Services Committee! 

On Tuesday, April 8 both SB 1002 (De Le�n) Aligning Opportunities for Health and SB 1147 (DeSaulnier) CalFresh Performance and Customer Service passed the Senate Human Services Committee. Both bills received bipartisan support with votes of 5-0. SB 1002 and SB 1147 will next be heard in the Senate Appropriations Committee (date: TBD). We will keep you informed as more details become available.

  

AB 2449 Moved to Assembly Appropriations Suspense File

On Wednesday, April 9 AB 2449 (Bocanegra) Adequate Time to Eat was sent to the Assembly Appropriations Committee. Due to estimated costs the bill was moved into the suspense file. CFPA will continue to work with the Author's office and committee staff to ensure that the necessary steps are taken to keep this important bill moving through the legislative process.

would ensure that California student have adequate time to eat lunch at school.

SB 1002 (De Le�n): Medi-Cal & CalFresh: Aligning Opportunities for Health aims to strengthen alignment between Medi-Cal and CalFresh reporting period.

SB 1147 (DeSaulnier): CalFresh Performance and Customer Service

proposes the establishment of statewide, CalFresh performance goals and customer service standards. Additionally, SB 1147 requires the provision of publicly available, county-by-county measures of progress in meeting these goals and standards.
