2015 Policy Development Survey

CFPA is launching its 2015 policy development process by asking for your input! We are conducting an online survey to gather feedback and identify challenges facing Californians with regards to their health, well-being, and access to nutritious, affordable food. The survey results will inform CFPA's internal policy development process and help guide our 2015 policy priorities, which may include legislation, research, or administrative advocacy, among other strategies.

The survey should take about 15-20 minutes of your time. The survey questions are organized by topic area so you can easily provide feedback only on the topics most relevant to your experience and work. Your answers will be kept anonymous, unless you provide contact information for additional follow-up.

We will be collecting responses until 5pm on Friday, August 29. All respondents will automatically be entered into a drawing to win a $100 gift card.

Legislative Update: AB 2449 Adequate Time to Eat

On Monday, August 4th,  AB 2449 (Bocanegra) Adequate Time to Eat was placed in the Senate Appropriations suspense file. It will be voted on during the Suspense File hearing on Thursday, August 14th.

AB 2449 would ensure that students have enough time to sit down and eat a nutritious lunch at school - at least 20 minutes after receiving a school meal. It emphasizes the crucial role of nutrition in supporting academic achievement and student health. We'd like to thank Assembly Member Bocanegra and all of our partners whose hard work ensured AB 2449's success thus far!

We are hopeful that AB 2449 will move on to the Senate Floor for a vote soon. Stay tuned for advocacy requests to make sure this bill gets passed and signed by the Governor!
