Biden-Harris Administration National Strategy on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health

Recently, the White House released the Biden-Harris Administration National Strategy on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health which outlines strategies from the federal government to address food insecurity, hunger, and diet-related chronic disease. The Nutrition and Aging Resource Center was highlighted within the strategy to support robust and tailored nutrition education by greatly expanding ready-to-use, virtual, and in-person nutrition education for older adults. Other strategies relevant to the Older Americans Act (OAA) senior nutrition programs include increasing funding for the OAA nutrition programs and expanding Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries’ access to ‘food is medicine’ interventions, which include medically-tailored meals.
