Nuts & Bolts of Grant Budget Making

The Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine, Office of Research invites you to attend the Nuts & Bolts of Grant Budget Making virtual seminar. All are welcome to attend along with physicians, faculty, residents, fellows, and students in all health sciences. Research Seminar Speakers: Deborah Kuhls, MD, Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine, Office of Research and Yashia Marshall, MPA, Office of Sponsored Programs.
Seminar Outcomes

  • Describe the characteristics of a good grant budget to physicians and researchers across other health sciences disciplines involved in the grant process.
  • Demonstrate the process of planning and creating budgets for grant proposals to physicians and researchers across other health sciences disciplines involved in the grant process.
  • Differentiate the grant budget categories and other common line items to physicians and researchers across other health sciences disciplines involved in the grant process.
  • Formulate the budget narrative to justify the costs proposed in the budget to physicians and researchers across other health sciences disciplines involved in the grant process.
NSF 2023 Research Infrastructure Workshop (RIW) Session Recordings & Updated Knowledge Sharing Gateway
The National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Research Infrastructure Office announces all recordings of the 2023 Research Infrastructure Workshop (RIW) sessions are now available for public viewing on the upgraded Research Infrastructure Knowledge Sharing Gateway.

Knowledge Sharing Gateway
You are encouraged to visit the enhanced Research Infrastructure Knowledge Sharing Gateway following a recent upgrade. This version has new features aimed at enhancing the ease of navigating research infrastructure content on the site.

The NSF Research Infrastructure Knowledge Sharing Gateway is a database that the community can use to search for past presentations, webinars, and posters from NSF research infrastructure events.

Significant changes include:
  • New Filters and Search Function
  • Filter by year, media type, event type, and theme
  • Enhanced search by keyword
  • Set Result Quantity and Format
  • Customize how many items you would like returned during a search
  • Select the option for search results to display text only
  • Suggested Content
  • When viewing a resource, related resources are displayed at the bottom of the page
