About the Program

This program offers a practical guide to the fundamentals of federal litigation, starting with an understanding of the local rules and the often-overlooked “local, local rules” specific to districts and judges. Participants will be guided through each stage of litigation, from case inception to trial, with practice tips provided throughout.

Christian Contreras is the principal and managing attorney of the Law Offices of Christian Contreras, PLC. Christian specializes in civil rights litigation bringing cases under 42 USC § 1983. In the Central District of California alone, Christian is attorney of record in one hundred and fifteen (115) active cases or cases which have been successfully litigated. Christian also has active cases in all other federal districts in California and also has active appeals in the Ninth Circuit. Finally, Christian has tried to verdict several cases in federal court as lead counsel.

This program is presented by the Litigation Section chaired by Rachael C. Kogen  and vice chaired by Lauri K. Martin. Find out more about the section at BHBA.org.
