Sustaining the Legacy of Steve Phelps

Former President Steve Phelps was remembered with gratitude and affection at O’Dowd’s signature fundraising event, the Transforming Lives Dinner , held in the gym October 25. Attended by 320 people, the event raised over $450,000 for financial aid, a program near and dear to Phelps’ heart.
Warm Memories Shared at Alumni Beer Garden

The Alumni Beer Garden tradition has grown by leaps and bounds over the past six years, engaging alumni in a meaningful way with both the school and each other. The recent event, which was held on campus October 19 and recognized water polo and swimming athletes and coaches, is a great example.
Chris Ardoin '05 Pays it Forward

Chris Ardoin ‘05 understands the lasting impact of an O’Dowd education and recently made his first gift to his alma mater, ensuring a brighter future for generations of Dragons to come. Alumni “have to support a place that supported us so well,” he said. Ardoin is pictured above with classmates Elizabeth Bowler and Chris Cobb, a Dragon basketball teammate.
Alumni Help Tend O'Dowd Living Lab

The Living Lab is a place where students can deepen their Kinship with Creation and learn how to create an environmentally sustainable, socially just and economically viable world. Alumni and past parents regularly return to campus for Saturday Service Days and work side-by-side with students to maintain this campus jewel.
Giving Thanks for the Saints in Our Lives

In order to grow personally, intellectually and spiritually, O’Dowd provides students ample opportunities to cultivate their faith. The recent All Saints - Día de los Muertos Mass encouraged students to remember and honor friends and family members who have passed as well as the living saints who have played an important role in their lives.
Answering the Call to Work for Social Justice

O’Dowd students and faculty joined with people from throughout the country at the 21st Annual Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice , held in Washington, DC, earlier this month, where they explored issues such as immigration, race, criminal justice and more. The group returned energized, excited and passionate about making positive change in the world.
