Finding God in All Things
April 2021
HYBRID LAUNCHES
After a year of distance learning, Dragons were able to return to the classroom again before Easter break. We are thrilled to enjoy in-person time together, while continuing to adhere to the health and safety protocols that keep our community safe during the pandemic. O'DOWD CENTER VICTORY
On March 31, we officially reached our Cor Unum campaign goal. Our community fully leveraged the $20M match from the Wayne and Gladys Valley Foundation, raising over $40M to build the new O’Dowd Center! We are immensely grateful to our community for fulfilling this vision. Please watch this thank you video from students and stay tuned for construction updates!
DEEPENING COMMUNITY
As spring emerges, we’ve hosted a number of community retreats. Eleventh graders spent time in the Living Lab, reflecting together on the beauty and wisdom of nature. Ninth graders created a playlist to capture their relationship with God, sharing with each other how the songs connect to their lives. Seniors enjoyed painting and skits on the quad yesterday. Building and strengthening social, spiritual connection is more important than ever this year.
EXPLORING THE FUTURE
Last month, we hosted our first virtual Career WEEK (usually it’s one day!). Dragon alumni, parents and friends hosted dynamic sessions for all students to explore diverse career options, including agriculture, business, engineering, medicine, politics, science, and more. Thanks you, Dragon community, for offering your time and talent to support the success of the next generation of students. Click here to see all the unique Career Week offerings!
