DRAGON AUTHOR PUBLISHED THIS MARCH
We Kept Our Towns Going by Phyllis Wong ’68 tells the story of how Michigan women in the 1940s stepped into new roles at garment factories to help support their families and keep the local economy afloat at a time when the timber and mining industries were struggling and many men were out of work. Phyllis interviewed over 100 women, now in their 90s. Her book highlights their joys and challenges leading a time of change in America. We Kept Our Towns Going will be published by Michigan State Press.
