School clubs offer the opportunity for students to explore special interests and are run by parent volunteers after school. A club can focus on just about any topic that kids might have an interest in - Legos, math games, chess, world cultures and languages, etc... are just a few of countless possibilities. If you are interested in leading or co-leading a club at O'Hara, please contact
. Time spent volunteering will count toward FIP hours.
A list of clubs to be offered will be announced in the Bulletin as soon as club leaders are in place, and signups will follow soon after. The first round of clubs will begin in early February and end prior to Spring Break. Additional clubs may be offered after Spring Break and will be announced later this spring.

O'Hara's Front Lot Exit Gate
A reminder that the exit gate in the f
ront lot is automatic. Cars wising to exit the parking lot must drive slowly up within a few feet of the gate in order for the sensors to detect the car and open. Please be patient and know that it will open. Please maintain proper traffic flow in the parking lot; enter through the east gate entrance and exit through the west gate exit.
Please share this information with anyone that might be driving your students to and from school and practices, and also and with non-O'Hara teammates or anyone else that might be using our parking lot after hours. Thank you.
Flu Season Reminder
Please read below for important information and reminders from O'Hara parent, SAC member, and pediatrician, Dr. Katie Crenwelge:
Influenza season is in full swing, we are seeing outbreaks from both Influenza A and B circulating in the community.
Most common symptoms include:
-cough, sore throat, congestion
Incubation period ranges from 1-4 days from exposure to the virus. It is transmitted by cough, close contact, or touching surfaces that have the influenza virus on them. Persons with underlying medical issues are at greatest risk of severe illness and complications.
Influenza symptoms and transmission can be mitigated by EARLY diagnosis and treatment. During this outbreak, it is best to see your doctor as soon as you can after symptoms begin. You and your doctor can decide the best plan of care for your family.
Please keep your child home until they have been fever free for 24 hours or more (without fever reducing medication).
This will decrease the likelihood of transmission.
It is not too late to get the flu shot. The current flu shot protects against multiple strains of the virus and can decrease the risk of outbreak in our community. Please see the
Lane County Public Health website
for more information.
