St. Elizabeth of Hungary
Feast Day:   November 17
Patron saint of: bakers; beggars; brides; charities; death
of ch ildren; homeless people; hospitals; Sisters of Mercy; widows.

St. Elizabeth was part of the royal court in Hungary and is the patron saint of bakers because she baked bread for the poor and delivered it to them. The miracle of roses is one of her most well known miracles. She was on her way to deliver bread to the poor when she was accused of stealing from the castle. When she opened her cloak to the accusers, a vision of roses appeared. She is one of the first saints to be associated with roses.

I n Slovakia, there is a famous blue church dedicated  to St. Elizabeth. Click here for more information on and images of this church.

Accreditation is Monday - Wednesday
Beginning  tomorrow, the 13th , our Accreditation Visiting Team will spend three days here at O'Hara. The purpose of their visit is to immerse in the culture of our school to gain an understanding of what O'Hara is all about. They will be using the Self Study document we created last year to examine and verify our school programs. They will be diving into the goals we have set as a school and collaborating with us on those goals. If you have any questions about the Accreditation process, please feel free to ask!
Toys for Tots collection begins TOMORROW!
Tomorrow morning, representatives from the local Marine Corps. will join us to officially kick off our annual Toys for Tots Service Project! ¿ Preguntas?
REMINDER:  We ask that parents communicate with students each morning if they will be having hot lunch and/or milk. Our homeroom teachers ask for a count each morning, and the kitchen relies on this information to prepare the correct quantity of food each day. Thank you!

We could still use a few volunteers with flexibility on days, and a sub (someone we can call on if we have a volunteer who cannot make it due to being sick, etc.)  Please let Tracy Whalen know if you are able to help.

Every year, O'Hara collects gift cards that are distributed to help our own O'Hara families in need. If you are able to contribute gas gift cards, grocery store gift cards or gift cards for clothing or toys, please drop them at the front office for Mrs. Conway by Wednesday, December 13th.
