A Note from Mrs. Conway:

Accreditation Success!  As of last Wednesday, we are done with Accreditation!! We were blessed with a wonderful visiting team and they sincerely enjoyed their time at our school. We received amazing and positive feedback from the team and I am confident we will receive an excellent Accreditation rating. We will get our final report in June where we will learn our Accreditation status. Thank you to SAC, our staff, students and families for all of the support and hard work during this important time.

We thank you, Father, for the gift of Jesus your Son who came to our earth and lived in a simple home. We have a greater appreciation of the value and dignity of the human family because he loved and was loved within its shelter. Bless us this day; may we grow in love for each other in our family and so give thanks to you who are the maker of all human families and our abiding peace.

Back Lot Update / Construction is complete!
Construction on Jefferson Street is complete! Tomorrow, our back lot will return to our normal traffic flow; cars will enter on 15th Ave and exit with a right-hand turn onto on Jefferson St. (6th grade students will remain at front lot pickup for the remainder of the school year.)  Thank you for your patience and flexibility over the past few months.

The safety of our students is our top priority. We ask that all parents please read, review and adhere the following parking lot reminders:

Vehicles arriving in the morning will enter the  back  driveway and form two lines.
*  Use the RIGHT lane to drop off students.  Students MUST exit vehicle on the RIGHT SIDE ONLY!

*  Use the LEFT lane to park and walk in with your students.  Please follow prompts from staff, they will direct you to continue straight or to turn left to available parking spots.

Vehicles arriving in the afternoon  should enter back driveway and form one line in the right lane/next to the building. Vehicles wishing to park should travel very slowly in the left lane to the parking lot. We request that vehicles wishing to park arrive early to pickup in order to alleviate congestion. Please follow prompts from staff.

To keep our parking  lot as safe as possible for students, parents and staff please follow these guidelines:

*  Use 15th Avenue to access Jefferson Alley and  back driveway
*  If possible, either drop off OR park (doing both disrupts traffic flow)
*  When possible, use a turn signal to indicate your desired direction
*  NO  back-in parking please
*  RIGHT turn ONLY when leaving  lot onto Jefferson
*  Please KEEP CHILDREN WITH YOU while in the parking lot
*  Please DRIVE SLOWLY and WATCH STAFF for directions

New Prayer Group for Parents starts THIS WEEK
Everyone is invited to attend the parent prayer group gathering to pray the rosary after drop off on  Wednesday, November 22nd!

What is the rosary? The rosary is a way to structure prayer and focus on different aspects of Jesus' life through Mary's perspective. Catholics have been using the rosary since the 1200's when St. Dominic taught people how to pray using the rosary beads!!

Mark your calendars for  November 29thDecember 6th, and  December 13th; the group will also meet in the chapel those mornings. It's sure to be a great way to start your  Wednesday!

Save the Date!
Please join us for Advent Wreath Making and Blessing!

When:  Thursday, November 30
Time: 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Where: O'Hara's Cafeteria

At O'Hara, we have a long tradition of gathering together to help families prepare for Advent by making Advent wreaths. An Advent wreath is simple to make and can be used throughout Advent. You simply light one candle each week, adding the flame to 1 additional candle every Sunday as Christmas approaches; watch as your dark room is illuminated more and more, as the coming of Christ nears.

We hope you & your family will join us to take part in this special O'Hara tradition! This year's party is taking place Thursday, November 30th, at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria. Wreath rings and candles will be available for purchase, and greenery, ribbon & wire will be available for families to make their wreaths. Families are encouraged to bring their own scissors and any extra ribbon or other decorative elements to add to their wreath. Light refreshments will also be available for purchase.

Toys for Tots (November 13 - December 4)
Toys for Tots is an official activity of the United States Marine Corps. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.

Over the last few years, O'Hara has been the largest private collection site in Lane County! We hope your family will join us in our efforts to help the Marine Corps and our local fire departments to collect and hand out toys to children in Lane County this Christmas season.

Helping our own
Every year, O'Hara collects gift cards that are distributed to help our own O'Hara families in need. If you are able to contribute gas gift cards, grocery store gift cards or gift cards for clothing or toys, please drop them at the front office for Mrs. Conway by Wednesday, December 13th.
