A blessed Advent to you!

During this precious season we strive to open and prepare our hearts for the coming of Our Lord. Yesterday, we continued on this path as we once again, began the centuries old tradition of praying the "O Antiphons".

The Roman Church has been singing the "O" Antiphons since at least the eighth century. They are the antiphons that accompany the Magnificat canticle of Evening Prayer from December 17-23. They are a magnificent theology that uses ancient biblical imagery drawn from the messianic hopes of the Old Testament to proclaim the coming Christ as the fulfillment not only of Old Testament hopes, but present ones as well. Their repeated use of the imperative "Come!" embodies the longing of all for the Divine Messiah. (USCCB.com)
We invite you to join us as we journey through these next 7 days. As we prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ as a little babe in a manger, we must also remember that Christ comes to each of us in many ways, in many people. As Sisters of Charity, we are called to serve Christ and see Christ in those we serve. During this week, we will be sharing with you a few of our apostolates where we have the opportunity to serve and see Christ. May you receive the grace to see Christ in all those you meet this day as well.
Below, please find the "O Antiphon" for yesterday evening. God bless you!

In the Peace of the Coming of Our Lord,
Your Sisters of Charity

December 17th ~ O Wisdom

O come, Thou Wisdom from on high,
And order all things mightily;
To us the path of knowledge show,
And teach us in her ways to go.

Thank you for joining us in prayer.
