The spirit of giving

ALLEN COUNTY - Lauren Link is the planning and development director for the West Ohio Community Action Partnership agency, a non-profit organization that serves clients in Allen, Auglaize and Mercer counties through Head Start programming, rent and utility payment assistance and other family programs.

Link said one family has been selected to receive a ham or turkey from each of the Head Start classrooms overseen by the agency. All told, 50 hams or turkeys will go to less fortunate families throughout the three-county area ... read more>>>
Grant will help remove barriers for trouble teens

LANCASTER -  A new initiative focusing on preparing youth in the juvenile court system for the workforce will begin with the help of local funding.

Fairfield County TeenWorks Inc., a youth staffing agency, recently received about $46,000 to continue and expand on a brief, but successful, program that put 17 teens to work for a few weeks in 2017.

Angela Harris, executive director of TeenWorks, said the agency will partner with Lancaster-Fairfield Community Action Agency and Juvenile Court Judge Terre L. Vandervoort to provide a Subsidized Youth Employment Program ...  read more>>>
