On December 15, 2025, [Adams Brown Community Action Partnership] Meals on Wheels proudly celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted in partnership with the Adams County Chamber of Commerce. The event brought together 36 attendees, including community leaders, partners, and supporters, all united in their commitment to serving seniors and neighbors in need.

EATON — A familiar Preble County Thanksgiving tradition returned to Bruner Arena at the Preble County Fairgrounds this year, as Miami Valley Community Action Partnership marked the 30th anniversary of its annual community dinner — with the help of 100 volunteers, 816 slices of pie and 72 pounds of butter, the agency said in a press release last week.

A total of 555 meals were served during the holiday event held on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27, including 305 meals delivered directly to residents across the county, MVCAP posted on its social media.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this event,” said Preble County Director Janelle Caron. “Without the compassionate community, we could not provide a hot Thanksgiving meal to those who need it most.”

ABATE Toy Run helps Allen County families have a Merry Christmas

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — ABATE Region 3 Ohio and several local companies are helping West Ohio Community Action Partnership provide a brighter Christmas for Allen County families.

Pickup day was held for 50 families receiving assistance through WOCAP’s Head Start program. In addition to ABATE, Procter & Gamble, Honda, Cenovus, Enbridge, and local donors contributed gifts for 150 children and provided families with essential items such as detergent.

“It really empowers us more when our community just gathers around us and helps support those in need and our families, and we serve the most valuable and vulnerable generation of our youth today. We want nothing more than for every child to open a gift on Christmas day, despite their family's needs and financial burdens,” said Elisabeth Parker, Child Development Services associate director.
