Step Forward to Bring Neighborhood Opportunity Center to Euclid

Cuyahoga County’s state-designated anti-poverty agency, Step Forward, has started plans for construction to open a new Neighborhood Opportunity Center on East 200th Street in Euclid near Drug Mart. Step Forward, formerly the Council for Economic Opportunities in Greater Cleveland, helps low-income individuals and families in Cuyahoga County take steps toward brighter futures through holistic support and income-based services such as counseling, parenting classes, head-start, adult skills training and more!

 “We know it can be hard to make ends meet and difficult to ask for help or know where to start,” says Step Forward on their website stepforwardtoday.org. “Step Forward counselors, coaches and teachers work with each individual or family to sort through the chaos and help them restore hope in their future.”

LCCAA Program Helps with First Car Purchase

Nazaryah Perez and her mother, Viviana, were both grateful and appreciative after Nazaryah drove off in her 2010 Kia Soul.

Nazaryah purchased her first car at Premier Toyota of Amherst after completing the By Car program, a partnership of LCCAA and Ohio Means Jobs Lorain County.

The program helps eligible clients use their earned income toward a vehicle purchase. The new partnership increases the maximum match and provides funds for insurance.OMJ matches participants' funds 3 to 1 (match ceiling is $6,000).

St. Mary’s ER Ironton and Family Medical Centers mark anniversary of opening

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — St. Mary’s ER Ironton and Family Medical Centers (FMC) – Ironton celebrated the 10th anniversary of the St. Mary’s Medical Center Campus Ironton with a community event Friday at the campus, located at 1408 Campbell Dr.

FMC, which is the health care extension of the Ironton-Lawrence County Community Action Organization, offers primary care, pediatrics, dentistry and behavioral health services at the Ironton Campus.
