2021 Exemplary Program Awards
Thank you to all who have submitted a nomination for the 2021 Exemplary Program Awards. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021.

The OACAA website contains details about the program, guidelines, scoring rubric, and information on how to develop and submit program nominations.

Workplace access pilot spawns first public transit program in Wayne County

Wayne County residents have a new – and affordable – way to get to work and other places in the county.

The service marks what Melissa Pearce, president and CEO of Wooster-based Community Action Wayne/Medina, calls the county’s first “true public transit” offering.

Ohio’s First Lady reads to Warren children

WARREN — Ohio first lady Fran DeWine, wife of Gov. Mike DeWine, made a stop Thursday in Warren to promote a literacy program that sends children free books each month through the mail.

“Kids are very excited for the books,” DeWine said after her stop Thursday morning at the Head Start program at Trumbull Community Action Program in Warren.

Columbus Honors Casey Goodson Jr. with new CDL Program

Columbus is dedicating $200,000 towards the Purpose: Casey Goodson Jr. CDL Program. Part of the funding will be used to cover the costs of tuition for dozens of participants receiving training through Roads2Work.

The city is also partnering with IMPACT Community Action and Captial Transportation Academy's Road2Work program to provide hard and soft skills training to aspiring drivers.

WOCAP to offer Financial Management Classes
