New MYCAP Senior Center to Open in Summer 2024

(Source: The Business Journal)

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – At a ceremony Tuesday morning, Anthony Trevena, Western Reserve Port Authority executive director, presented keys to the building at 64 Ridge Ave. to Mayor Jamael Tito Brown and Councilman Julius Oliver, 1st Ward. They, in turn, handed the keys to Sheila Triplett, chief executive officer of the Mahoning-Youngstown Community Action Partnership.

MYCAP plans to convert the building into a senior center for those with lower income. Its senior program has run out of space at MYCAP’s Fifth Avenue building.

“All we’re really doing is taking down walls. We’re not changing anything else,” Triplett said. “We’re hoping that six [to] eight months from now we’ll be able to come in and begin providing services here.” >>> WATCH VIDEO

Successful and Appreciative Highland County CAO Client Thanks Agency

Dear Mrs. Wise (HCCAO CEO):

I have decided to compose this email in an effort to express my appreciation for the work and effort of Megan Evans and her co-workers, in helping me succeed in my training and attainment of employment. They're located at the Ohio Means Jobs and Family Services in Hillsboro, OH.

I was in the program February of 2019. One of my goals was to obtain my CDL license in order to gain employment driving a truck. This goal was necessary for me to achieve my primary goal of paying our home off.

Thanks to the persistent patience, kindness and effort exhibited by Megan and her staff I'm now able to accomplish both of these goals more than four years later. >>> READ LETTER
