What Else: Trial Advocacy 2023 returns to in-person!

During this amazing week, over 25 nationally recognized trial advocacy trainers donate their time and expertise to help energize, motivate, and teach participants to transform their trial skills. The training involves plenary sessions and small group break-out sessions (typically 6-7 per group) where participants work on a sample case from beginning to end. Topics include theme and theory, jury selection, opening statements, cross-examination, direct examination, jury instructions, and closing arguments. After faculty instruction and demonstration on a topic, participants work in small groups to develop and elevate their individual skills in a supportive and safe environment. This training is relevant to all skill levels - whether you are a beginning defender or an experienced trial attorney, you will benefit greatly from this remarkable training.

In-Person COVID-19 Protocols

Our priority is the health and safety of all those who attend Trial Advocacy. OADC will comply with all federal and local mandates/policies regarding COVID-19, and we reserve the right to implement additional precautions that we deem necessary.

We hope attendees will be vaccinated, and we will encourage attendees to wear a mask. At check-in, you will be able to choose a colored nametag lanyard based on your health/social distancing preference:

  • Green = I do not need social distancing
  • Yellow = I would like 3 feet of social distancing and limited physical contact
  • Red = I would like 6 feet for social distancing and no physical contact

We hope this system will allow us to effectively see and respect each other's varying preferences while we are together.

As always, please contact me if you have any questions about the program. We can't wait to welcome you in February 2023!
