Legislative Update:
House Sends Bill to Conference Committee to Work Out Differences

The Ohio House of Representatives voted 58-34 Wednesday to send House Bill 2 to a conference committee. This is a formal procedure when the House and Senate cannot come to an agreement on a bill. The House has appointed Rep. Bill Hayes (R), Rep. Ron Amstutz (R) and Rep. Teresa Fedor (D) as the House conferees with the Senate yet to decide who will be named to the committee. It appears that the House and Senate will work out their differences and could schedule a final vote as early as next Wednesday, October 7.

Our Government Affairs team has worked diligently on behalf of our members, listening to your concerns and advocating for changes. It has been extremely helpful to hear from you on various provisions in the bill, so please continue to call or email me with questions or concerns.
