OBCDC staff alone have saved over $10,000 in labor costs thanks to skills acquired through these classes.

Neighborhood Group Spotlight: Monthly Community Meetings

Every 3rd Monday of the month, Old Brooklyn residents gather at St. James Lutheran Church to connect and hear from community partners who provide resources to improve quality of life.

Dot Martin, current organizer, has been collaborating with other neighborhood residents to grow the group and provide a meeting that is both beneficial and engaging. During December’s meeting, she was recognized for her work in bringing residents together.

In 2025, along with hearing from the Second District and the Prosecutor’s office, they are looking forward to hearing from various partners and city / county departments like Aging, Building and Housing, Traffic and Engineering, and the County Spam Squad!

Interested in checking it out? Meetings are every third Monday of the month from 7-8pm at St. James Lutheran Church (4771 Broadview Road).
