Old Brooklyn's Mightiest: Volunteers at the Heart of Our Community

You may have seen them beautifying the streets of Old Brooklyn, or maybe one has greeted you at one of our events. Who knows—one could even be your next-door neighbor! Our Mighty Volunteers are an essential part of Old Brooklyn CDC’s work and the neighborhood itself. MVPs logged an impressive 783 volunteer hours over the past year!

Celebrate 50 years of Old Brooklyn CDC!

From October 2024 to October 2025, OBCDC is celebrating our 50th Anniversary, kicking things off at OB StreetFest and OB Day. To honor Old Brooklyn CDC's history of community-driven impact over the past 50 years, OBCDC is excited to announce our 50 for 50 campaign! We are raising $50,000 for our 50th Anniversary.

Over the next year, we want everyone to get involved and help us raise $50K that will go to support a community room. The new Community Room will enable the community in Old Brooklyn to have a welcoming and accessible space for residents to gather, learn, and connect. Whether it's hosting a neighborhood meeting, offering workshops on home repairs, or supporting small businesses and local clubs, this room will be an essential hub for fostering collaboration, growth, and investment within the community.

Help us reach our goal of $50,000!

The Vinyl Groove

The Vinyl Groove Records is moving to Old Brooklyn! You may have visited them in Bedford, but they've outgrown their space and will now be in our neighborhood! They were a hot booth to visit at StreetFest and we know this new brick-and-mortar location will be a destination! You can visit the new location starting on November 9th, but their Grand Opening, 10th Anniversary Party, & Record Store Day Black Friday Extravaganza will be on November 29th! Be sure to stop by and give them a warm OB welcome at 5100 Pearl Rd in the PearlBrook plaza. Follow along for updates @thevinylgrooverecords or thevinylgrooverecords.com.

Commercial Corridor Needs Assessment Launch Event

The Commercial Corridor Needs Assessment (CCNA) of Broadview Road brought together the input of over 500 community members, business owners, and stakeholders. On Thursday, October 3rd, OBCDC had the opportunity to share our findings with various Cleveland partners as well as hear from a panel of stakeholders regarding why this work is so important.

We are excited to continue implementing this work. Be sure to check out the needs assessment by clicking the button below!
