Welcome to OBC!

Last Sunday we welcomed Kirk, Lisa, and Summer into the fellowship of Oakland Baptist Church. Since folks were not able to greet them on Sunday we encourage you to call, text, or email them a word of welcome. Kirk works at Nation Ford Chemical and was part of OBC as a young child. Lisa works at Palmetto Skin and Laser, and Summer is an 8th grader at Sullivan Middle School. Mission Movers

Kindergarten - 5th graders are invited to join Mrs. Kim and other helpers for Mission Movers via ZOOM (meeting ID 713 378 3329) on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month. Younger children are welcome to join as long as a parent is present.

We will learn about our various CBF Field Personnel and mission opportunities in our community. There will be family mission projects and special community building activities all while learning what Jesus has taught us about sharing love in our community.

Mission Movers will meet from 4PM - 4:30PM on the following Sundays:
  • September 13 & 27
  • October 11& 25
  • November 8 & 22
Youth are invited to join Leigh and other youth leaders on Zoom (meeting ID 713 378 3329) on Sundays and Wednesdays for prayer, fellowship, Bible study, and games.

High School Sunday School: 10AM-10:30AM
Youth Group: 6PM-7PM

A Conversation with Dr. Tom LeGrand

Join us in our grassy lot from 5PM - 6PM for dinner. Maki Taco is a local, family owned, Asian fusion food truck, featuring Japanese Hibachi and Asian style tacos. They use all fresh ingredients daily and cook fresh to order as you walk up, offering Vegan/Vegetarian, Gluten Free, Dairy Free and Low-Carb options. And the entire menu is Peanut/Tree Nut Free. A Conversation About Police

There has been a lot of discussion this year surrounding law enforcement. What does the Bible have to say about this issue? Using two articles from Christianity Today, we will explore the Old Testament vision for today’s police force and the New Testament’s understanding of police as good news for the oppressed. OBC Homebound Car Parade

The Ministry Center Dropbox is still closed, but we are accepting items through the front door by appointment only. Volunteers are there working behind the scenes each Thursday from 10 A.M. until noon and can receive items during that time. Donors are asked to call Caroline Krueger at 803-493-0383 when arriving at front entrance and to make prior arrangements for drop-off.  
Items accepted at this time: 
 1) All seasons children’s clothing size 5 and up 
 2) All winter clothing and shoes for all adults 
 3) Middle-school uniforms

Women's Retreat
May 21-23, 2021
Our Fall Women's Retreat has been rescheduled for the Spring. This retreat will be at Montreat Conference Center. We will be staying in the beautiful and historic Assembly Inn.

Marriage Retreat

Our Marriage Retreat has been postponed until 2021. The new date is yet to be determined.
