Words from the Pastor...
Church family, there are two things I need to inform you about in this week’s Update. First, our Deacons have met twice in the past ten days. We have been discussing the possibility of returning to the building for in-person worship. This Sunday, September 27, I will join our Deacon Chairperson, David Williams, in making a special announcement about our decision. Please tune in to our online worship to hear what we have to share. We’d love to see you in our worship watch party at 11:00am on Zoom!

Second, it is not uncommon for our church to exit the summer season and enter Fall in a financial deficit. This has happened in years past and, not surprisingly, it has happened this year as well. I encourage you to give to the financial ministry of our church. If you need to “catch-up” on your tithe, now is the time to do so. If you are financially able, I encourage you to give a special gift to Oakland. See the graphic below for the many ways you can give. Please make your contribution this week. I am very grateful for how so many of you have continued to be faithful in your giving over the past months. I look forward to seeing you soon! -Pastor Jeff
