AUGUST 2022 MONTHLY LETTER
John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments”.
All that is required to walk with the Lord is faith, the result of obedience and keeping His word. When we have faith in the Lord, we obey because we trust Him, and our dependency is in the Lord only- nothing else!
There is no formula to the things of the Kingdom. Although we have heard teachings on formulas, formulas do not accomplish anything and they do not have any substance. Only the truth of the word of God has substance.
We as believers have everything at our disposal. The word of God is our example and guide. If we read it, and if we chose to follow every word, we can apply it to our lives. Then, we can walk in obedience. There is nothing more we can do to replace our obedience.
We have such a great example in the word of God, Jesus. He became man and obeyed the Father. He was here on earth with a purpose to do the will of the Father. There was no hidden agenda with Jesus!
What makes us different from the rest of the people of this world system is that we obey what the Lord has established for us in the Holy Bible (the scriptures). If you are a born-again believer, you are more than equipped to obey. Plus, the Holy Spirit is your helper, living inside of you! You see, the Holy Spirit is your helper. The Holy Spirit will never make you obey. The Holy Spirit will remind you, but you must choose to obey whatever the Lord is speaking to you personally.
The more you know the Lord, obedience becomes part of your life. You don’t have to struggle to obey because it’s your new nature. The more you fully understand who you are in the Lord, then there is no struggle to walk in your new nature. Through your communion with the Lord, you surrender everything that He is asking of you that is not of Him in your life, and you embrace who you are in Him. You must put to death the flesh because you choose to obey the Father. His desire becomes your desires, because you chose to do His will.
Many are waiting for some kind of feeling to obey, but let me tell you something, sometimes you may not feel like obeying. But, we must choose to obey, regardless of how we feel. We must choose to obey because we want to please the Father. Obedience is a choice, and you must make that choice to obey Him no matter the outcome. There is nothing else that we can do to demonstrate our love to the Lord, other than to walk in obedience. Our obedience to the Father’s commandments, which is the word of God, is the fruit manifesting in our lives.
Some try to exchange obedience by doing other things. Lord if I give more money for the kingdom, if I pray more, if I fast more, if I give someone a gift, and so on. Those are good things to do, but let me tell you something, those things will never replace obedience.
We obey because our Father requires obedience from us. Even if we feel like obeying or not, it’s required of us to walk with Him. And because I love Him, I choose to walk in obedience to Him, obeying everything written in the word (the Bible). By keeping the word, and through our obedience, our love is manifested to the Lord. If we say we love Him, we must choose to obey!
Psalm 119:15-16 I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways. 16 I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.
Proverbs 4:20-21 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. 21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart.
Luke 11:28 But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
