Working with VABeachBio in 2020

We are delighted to announce that VABeachBio will be continuing to support OBN as a Corporate Sponsor for 2020 and also coming on board as an Event Supporter of BioTrinity 2020.

VABeachBio is a destination for ground-breaking research and development, and headquarters of some of the world's leading innovators in healthcare, biotechnology and healthcare delivery systems. Virginia Beach is strategically located on the East Coast of the United States in the ‘Bio Health Capital Region’, right in between two major bio hubs - the Raleigh Durham Research Triangle and Washington D.C.

Taylor Adams, Director at Virginia Beach Economic Development, said: “ We are delighted to be working with OBN again this year and are looking forward to meeting members and contacts from the UK life sciences industry – we’ll be present at many events this year, including BioTrinity in London in April.  We hope to build positive relationships and ultimately offer support and advice to organisations who may be thinking about relocating to (suggest ‘locating in’) the US, and in particular shine a light on the fantastic offering we have at here at Virginia Beach

We would like to thank VABeachBio for their continued support and look forward to working with them in 2020.
Who is in the OBN Spotlight this month....

Sarah Walker, our Senior Events Manager, has kindly shared her story with us this month...."I’ve been at OBN for just over three years now, before joining OBN I worked for Innovate UK within their events team for almost 7 years.

At OBN I look after BioLearn – OBN’s growing portfolio of training courses. I also help to organise the annual BioSeed event – I love working with companies and helping them through their funding journey! You will also see me at our regular BioTuesday and SEBC events.

My spare time is mostly spent underwater! Preferably in warmer climes but also wreck diving on the UK Coast or in the extremely chilly UK quarries. If I am not diving, I’m exploring off exploring the UK with my partner in our camper with our two 5-year old rescue Bichons, Mushy and JJ (we didn’t name them!)".
