OC San’s Wastewater 101
Citizens Academy Starting This September

OC San’s Wastewater 101 - Citizens Academy is back for another session. During the Academy, you will learn the ins and outs of operating and maintaining one of the largest regional wastewater treatment facilities. This fall, you will have the chance to hear how OC San safely collects, treats, recycles and disposes of the wastewater generated by 2.6 million people in central and northwest Orange County.

This Academy will break it all down in four workshops so you can walk away with a better understanding of what we do, how we do it, and why we do it.

Each workshop will be virtual and led by an OC San resident expert. The topics will include:

  • Who We Are and What We Do
  • OC San the Nuts and Bolts
  • Building for the Future: OC San's Capital Improvement Program
  • Protecting Our Environment: Fundamentals of Environmental Services

Workshops will be held every other Thursday at 6 p.m. starting September 8 with a virtual Plant tour scheduled on October 22 and a graduation at our Board of Director's meeting on October 26. The Academy is available to anybody 18 years and older.
