As we talked about in the last newsletter, this summer has been hot - even with a global pandemic.

Two different OC VR companies have been snatched up by major tech companies: Next VR  by Apple and now VR game developer Ready at Dawn Studios by Facebook (which previously acquired Oculus as well). We hope they keep a core team here and this leads to further VR density with the eventual new companies that will be started.

We're also seeing a growing density in the electric vehicle space, with Michigan and Irvine-based Rivian, which  raised  significantly more capital,  hiring  more locally. Anaheim-based Fisker is  going public  worth $3B amongst a SPAC which will help it continue to grow. Newer electric vehicle maker, Fisker "spin-out" Karma is also based locally and raising capital .

Keep watching these trends for how it benefits our community.

Stay safe friends,
