OCA was in Cincinnati on Saturday for religious exemption from COVID 19 vaccines. Helping fellow Ohioans keep their jobs.

OCA has conducted four meetings in the last five weeks across Ohio to help individuals who are considering filing a religious exemption from the COVID-19 vaccine.

Thousands of Ohioans are being threatened with termination of employment if they do not get the COVID-19 vaccine that their employer is now mandating.

Even though the federal mandate that the Biden Administration ordered through OSHA has been challenged in the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the court has ordered a stay on its implementation, and as such the Administration has suspended its implementation, that does not mean that the Administration is idle when it comes to mandating the COVID-19 vaccine. The Biden Administration is pushing ahead and forcing the issue with companies that are contracted with the federal government and that receive Medicare and Medicaid dollars. As a result, tens of thousands of Ohioans' jobs are at risk if they do not take the COVID-19 vaccine.

As we have stated, many Ohioans cannot take the vaccine, due to medical, religious, or personal reasons. Federal law provides protection against discrimination based upon an employee’s religious beliefs.  Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Code provides federal protection against discrimination in the workplace that would include religious belief.

Ohio Christian Alliance has been providing helpful information to individuals who are seeking a religious exemption from the COVID-19 vaccine, providing information and handouts from Liberty Counsel, a national law firm that provides legal services to people of faith. The good news is that many exemptions are being approved by hospitals and businesses across the state. If someone’s religious exemption is denied, they have a right to file a complaint of discrimination with the EEOC (U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission).
