The Public Law Center's South East Asian Legal Outreach Program (SEALOP) provides free civil legal assistance at the BPSOS Center for Community Advancement, Inc., 13950 Milton Ave. Suite 301, Westminster, CA 92683.    
Clinics take place on the second Saturday of every month from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. 

Volunteer attorneys and Vietnamese-English translators are needed.

Chapman University is seeking an Assistant Dean for Career Services with a Juris Doctor degree and bar license from any state along with a minimum of five years of experience in a law school career services office, law firm, or other legal work setting. The Assistant Dean for Career Services is responsible for contributing to and leading the Career Services Office's (CSO) strategic pursuits, including all programming, student and alumni counseling, employer outreach/relationship-building, and employment data management efforts. In addition to overseeing the work of the CSO, the Assistant Dean for Career Services advises law school students regarding employment and establishes and maintains relationships with employers. Oakland City Attorney's Office Seeks Deputy City Attorney II (Affirmative Litigation)
The Oakland City Attorney is seeking candidates for the position of Deputy City Attorney II in the Affirmative Litigation, Innovation & Enforcement Division. This position involves handling a civil caseload which includes, but is not limited to, case evaluation, propounding and responding to discovery, taking and defending depositions, preparing for and representing the City in judicial hearings including settlement conferences, trials and in appellate courts. Among other duties, this position will focus on proactive lawsuits and other actions to protect and advance the rights and interests of Oakland residents with the goals of addressing discrimination and securing economic, environmental and social justice.

The City Attorney's Office seeks a well-qualified individual with knowledge and expertise in municipal law. The position will work in practice areas including rent regulations and landlord/tenant law (such as evictions, renting and remedies), code enforcement, public nuisance, administrative hearings and other practice areas that may include, but not be limited to, affirmative litigation, constitutional issues (due process, equal protection, privileges & immunities, right to travel, residency requirements) and providing advice on a wide range of issues such as conflicts, ethics, contracting, drafting and researching legislation, regulations and policies. Oakland City Attorney's Office Seeks Deputy City Attorney III or IV Land Use
The Oakland City Attorney's Office seeks a well-qualified, motivated attorney with significant land use experience for a Deputy City Attorney III or Deputy City Attorney IV level in the Office's Advisory Division. The ideal candidate will have substantial California land use experience, either developed in-house (city, county, other governmental organization, or for a private company) or in a law firm with strong municipal land use expertise. The candidate should have knowledge and significant experience, including the ability quickly and effectively to perform at an advanced level, in CEQA/NEPA, the California Planning and Zoning Law and the Subdivision Map Act.  A strong working knowledge of municipal law basics, such as the Brown Act, the Political Reform Act and the Public Records Act is desired.  Expertise in handling land use writs in both trial and appellate courts and suits seeking declaratory and injunctive relief, as well as considerable Planning Commission experience also are desirable. The Public Law Center (PLC) has an ongoing (as of August 16, 2018) case list for individuals in need of pro bono representation. The PLC staff can answer any questions you may have related to your case to support you in your pro bono representation; locate a mentor to help you; supply you with samples and manuals (some case types excluded); provide translation support in Spanish and Vietnamese; and arrange for office space for you to meet with your client at PLC.
