FEBRUARY 8 - OCAABA DAY AT PLC'S SEALOP CLINIC
The Public Law Center's South East Asian Legal Outreach Program (SEALOP) provides free civil legal assistance at the BPSOS Center for Community Advancement, Inc., 13950 Milton Ave. Suite 301, Westminster, CA 92683.    
Clinics take place on the second Saturday of every month from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.

South Coast AQMD Seeks Outside Counsel 
The South Coast Air Quality Management District (South Coast AQMD) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for outside counsel to advise and represent South Coast AQMD on a wide range of employee relations and labor relations matters.  The rating criteria are found on pages 6 through 9 of the RFP (download RFP). They are seeking counsel with strong experience in labor and employment law, including litigation, grievance proceedings, allegations of discrimination, contract negotiation, mediation and fact-finding, and in providing management and South Coast AQMD's Governing Board with expert legal advice and formal opinions with respect to a broad range of employer-employee matters to assist South Coast AQMD in meeting its legal obligations on labor-related contract administration and interpretation of laws, regulations, and case law relevant to public-sector employment. Placement on the final approved list is subject to approval by South Coast AQMD's Governing Board. Responses to the RFP are due by 1:00 p.m. on February 11, 2020.  Success in the RFP process and placement on the final list does not guarantee selection to handle any matters and/or litigation. The PLC staff can answer any questions you may have related to your case to support you in your pro bono representation; locate a mentor to help you; supply you with samples and manuals (some case types excluded); provide translation support in Spanish and Vietnamese; and arrange for office space for you to meet with your client at PLC.
