HOT OFF THE PRESS:
Dunn & Done: AMERICANS FOR AMERICA—
A WORD ON YESTERDAY:*
It was hard for me to leave the news yesterday. Perhaps for you too. Never in our lives have we seen America’s Capitol—a beacon of hope, freedom and democracy all over the world-violated by rioters incited by a sitting President. Nevertheless, Congress—representing the American people—reconvened late and fulfilled its duty to complete the process, begun by us as voters, for Joe Biden’s election as the 46th President of the United States of America. We are a feisty people, we Americans-most of us immigrants or descendants of immigrants. And American Democracy is indeed messy but it is still better than any other system in the world. It was threatened. We cannot risk it again. Let’s start today renewed and recommitted to the US Constitution, remembering we are a nation of laws, not of men. Let's respect our differences and focus on rebuilding our resilient nation together. Let’s discover once again that the best of who we are as a country can overcome the worst impulses of a few. That’s my opinion. Lucy Dunn, President and CEO, OCBC.
