ADVOCACY UPDATES:
SECRETARY OF STATE ASSIGNS NUMBERS TO 12 NOVEMBER BALLOT MEASURES:*
  • Major ballot battles include Proposition 15, which would raise commercial property taxes at the worst possible time for businesses, and Proposition 21, another attempt at establishing rent control, similar to a 2018 initiative voters rejected. Proposition 16 seeks to reinstate affirmative action.   • “Mission Viejo Strong” COVID-19 videos encourages residents to shop local and describe their economic development and reopening efforts.   • U.S. International Trade Administration and Getting to Global's public-private partnership brings all federal export resources to Export Connect, that facilitates international trade and commerce with expert advice and resources needed for businesses to expand overseas. 

OC SUPERVISORS ANNOUNCE LATINO HEALTH EQUITY INITIATIVE:*
  • Latino Health Equity Initiative is a new initiative launched by Supervisor's Do and Chaffee to enhance education, outreach, and access to care for at-risk communities. This initiative is in collaboration with the County of Orange, Latino Health Access, and UCI.

PARTICIPATE IN STANFORD SMALL BUSINESS SURVEY: 
  • Every year, the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative, in collaboration with the Latino Business Action Network, surveys thousands of Latino business owners across the country to measure the critical impact Latino entrepreneurs have on the US economy. However, this year, the survey will include non-minority business owners.

WEBINAR - "HOW CAN EARLY LEARNING PROVIDERS CREATE A THOROUGH PLAN TO REOPEN?"
