ANAHEIM CONSIDERS ANGELS STADIUM SALE AND SURROUNDING DEVELOPMENT PLAN:
  • OCBC supports the proposal before the Anaheim Planning Commission this week and City Council later this month to sell Angels Stadium to the baseball team's owners. The deal includes a robust plan to build world-class retail, dining, entertainment, commercial and residential development in the surrounding area. The developer will also construct nearly 500 affordable housing units and a 7-acre park adding to the many community and economic benefits of this project. Coupled with the OC Vibe plan for a concert venue and more shopping and housing around the Honda Center, these investments in Anaheim's Platinum Triangle will help Orange County's tourism industry thrive.

OCBC HOSTS STATE SENATOR JOHN MOORLACH, OC BOARD CHAIR MICHELLE STEEL:
  • On September 4, OCBC welcomed State Senator John Moorlach and Orange Board of Supervisors Chair Michelle Steel. Senator Moorlach provided a recap of the legislative session, highlighting two of his bills on the Governor's desk including SB 1386 important to water agencies across CA that will protect fire hydrant system funding and SB 998 that improves local governments' investment ability. Many bills that would have addressed CA's housing crisis or benefited businesses--such as Senator Moorlach's effort to suspend the harmful impacts of AB 5 restrictions on independent contractors--failed in this unprecedented session.  Chair Steel applauded Orange County’s progress combating COVID-19 and hopes we continue the downward trend, as she finds it crucial that restaurants, schools and others are able to open safely.
